The T2 Leadership Retreat 2026: Three Days That Changed How 40 Leaders Think
Every year, we bring together a group of leaders for three days that are unlike anything they will find in a conference room.
The T2 Leadership Retreat 2026 took place at The Grove in Hertfordshire, and what happened over those three days is something that is difficult to put into words. Fortunately, the leaders who were there have done it for us.
What Is the T2 Leadership Retreat?
The T2 Leadership Retreat is an immersive three-day leadership development experience designed for senior leaders who want to grow, be challenged, and leave with something they can actually use.
It is not a classroom programme. It is not a series of presentations. It is a carefully designed experience that moves between deep personal reflection, high-pressure team challenges, and world-class keynote speakers, all within an environment that encourages leaders to be honest, open, and a little uncomfortable.
This year, over 50 leaders from across different industries and organisations joined us at The Grove for the Retreat's 2026 edition. Here is what the three days looked like.
Day 1: Self-Awareness
The first day set the tone for everything that followed.
Martin Johnson, Founder of T2, opened the Retreat with a keynote on leading through uncertainty, exploring how leaders adapt amid global volatility, the accelerating pace of technology, and the generational shift reshaping today's workforce. It was the kind of talk that makes a room go quiet.
The rest of the day was built around self-awareness. Delegates had the opportunity to hear 360-degree feedback from their teams, reflect with people they had only just met, and begin the kind of honest conversations that rarely happen back at the office.
“Going in, I felt a mix of nerves and excitement, but the experience exceeded all expectations. Over three days, we gained deep insights into our individual leadership styles, core values, and personal attributes.”
The day closed with an evening keynote from Stephanie Romiszewski, sleep psychologist and broadcaster, and one of the UK's leading voices on rest and recovery. Stephanie challenged every leader in the room to rethink the relationship between rest and performance. The room was completely still.
“The military-inspired orienteering challenge was something else entirely. I still cannot map read! But what it showed us about how we lead, listen and collaborate was invaluable.”
Day 2: Teamship
Day two looked different.
We took the group outside. One team took on white water rafting. The other navigated their way through the forest orienteering. Both found out very quickly what their team actually looks like under pressure.
The energy back in the room afterwards said it all. By the evening, the group was ready for Julian Treasure, five-time TED speaker and one of the world's leading authorities on sound and communication. Julian challenged delegates to think completely differently about how they speak, how they listen, and the impact their voice has on the people around them.
““Our team took on white water rafting, and after finding myself in the water twice, I experienced plenty of adrenaline, a little discomfort, and a huge amount of laughter. It was a brilliant reminder that high-performing teams succeed by supporting one another, especially when things don’t go to plan.” ”
Day 3: Attributes and Reflection
The final day was the quietest. It was also the one that stays with people the longest.
Delegates worked through attributes profiling with their T2 consultant, building a clear picture of their own leadership style, where their strengths lie, and where their blind spots might be. Every delegate then designed a personal action plan, not a generic list of good intentions, but something specific to them, their team, and their next step.
To close the Retreat, Lewis Pugh, Endurance Swimmer and UN Patron of the Oceans, took to the stage. The first person to complete a long distance swim in every ocean in the world, Lewis spoke about courage, commitment, and what it really means to lead when everything feels uncertain. It was the perfect way to end three days built around exactly that question.
“Day 3 was all about understanding our individual leadership attributes, recognising how different strengths complement each other, and identifying the areas we each need to lean into to become the best leaders we can be.”
What Leaders Are Saying
The posts that have come through on LinkedIn since the Retreat have been extraordinary. Here is a small selection of what this year's delegates had to say:
"This week I've had the pleasure of attending the T2 Leadership Retreat and what a week it has been. This wasn't your typical classroom-based programme. The entire retreat was masterfully thought through. I highly recommend this experience to any leader looking to grow, learn, and be truly challenged." (Parveen Sanghera - Group Business Services Manager - Rolls Royce )
"Today I've arrived home completely exhausted, but genuinely inspired. I've come away with a much clearer understanding of the leader I am today, and more importantly, the leader I want to become." (Kaylie Forward Chief Customer Officer at IMP Software)
"The experience was insightful, challenging, fun and at times incredibly vulnerable. Most importantly, it has given me a deeper understanding of myself and greater confidence in how I can continue to grow as a leader for my team." (Ashley Bowsley, Operational Director, Reckitt)
"No plan survives first contact with the enemy. A phrase shared during the T2 Leadership Retreat that has stayed with me, not because plans don't matter, but because great leaders understand that the ability to adapt, listen and respond is just as important as the plan itself." (Ellie Long Head of Emerging Talent - Rolls Royce )
Why Leaders Come Back
The T2 Leadership Retreat is not a one-size-fits-all programme. It is designed for leaders who are serious about growth and ready to do the work that makes it happen. The combination of personal reflection, team challenge, world-class speakers, and individual coaching creates an experience that is difficult to replicate anywhere else.
That is what the Retreat is designed for. And judging by the conversations, the posts, and the personal action plans that delegates left with, the class of 2026 are already putting it into practice.
“Leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about continuously learning, listening, and becoming a little better every day.”
