Five Years of Partnership: Strengthening Leadership Across Humberside Police

Humberside Police has been a valued partner of T2 for over five years and is part of our Partnership Programme. As a large policing organisation, they face the challenge of equipping mid-level leaders — Inspectors, Chief Inspectors, and staff equivalents — to thrive in complex, high-pressure environments.
Leaders were technically proficient but varied in confidence and consistency when it came to leading people, driving culture, and fostering collaboration. The leadership team recognised a need to:

This is where T2 came in. Partnering with Humberside Police, we aligned with the existing Mid-Level Leadership Programme (MLLP) curriculum set by the College of Policing, tailoring delivery as an external provider to meet the force’s specific needs and challenges.

T2 partnered with Humberside Police to design a 12-week modular programme combining leadership theory with a practical policing context. The sessions included:
Interactive workshops focused on leading self and leading teams.
Real-world application — translating leadership models into day-to-day policing challenges.
Safe spaces for reflection and challenge, helping leaders grow their self-awareness and confidence
A standout moment came during the “leading self” module, where several participants recognised unconscious biases and actively reshaped their approach to engagement and decision-making.
Leaders consistently praised the relevance, energy, and impact of the sessions — with many reporting a significant shift in confidence and leadership mindset.
