Inside the T2 Performance Centre Opening: a new home for leadership in Hull
On Thursday 25 June, T2: The People Performance People marked the official opening of the T2 Performance Centre with an afternoon event bringing together senior leaders from across Hull and the surrounding region. Held at 48 Queen Street, the event introduced T2's newly transformed headquarters to a curated group of people.
Why we opened our doors
With the Performance Centre complete, we wanted to mark the occasion properly: bring people together in the space itself, and give them a genuine feel for what performance-focused leadership work can look and feel like here.
Rather than simply announcing the opening, we invited people in to experience it.
The afternoon’s agenda
Guests arrived from 3pm to welcome drinks on the rooftop, looking out over the Humber River, before being taken on guided tours of our newly refurbished building, featuring 3 training spaces, meeting spaces, podcast room, and rooftop terrace.
Martin Johnson, Founder and CEO of T2, opened proceedings with a talk on the future of leadership. His argument was straightforward: almost everything leaders are contending with right now are shifting all at once. Generational change in the workforce, climate change, the rise of AI, geopolitical instability. None of these are an isolated pressure, nor are any of them slowing down.
His point was that the leaders who do the best in the current climate, aren't the ones with the most experience or the steadiest plan, they're the ones who can adapt fastest, who treat change as the constant rather than the exception.
From there, guests took part in three rotating performance experiences, each one built around a different theme — adaptability, self-awareness, and mindset. Short, sharp, and designed to give people something practical to take away, not just listen to.
The afternoon closed the way it began, back on the rooftop, with open networking, drinks and canapés until 6 pm.
Hull as a home for leadership thinking
“Events like this matter to us because Hull deserves more leadership investment, not less. The talent and ambition in this region’s businesses are real, and it shouldn’t require a trip to London or Leeds to access genuinely good thinking on performance and culture.”
